Job summary

St. Joseph's Institution International School in Malaysia is seeking an outstanding Elementary School Class Teacher & Lower School Coordinator for Years 1–3.

The role combines classroom teaching with leadership across the Lower School, working with Heads of Year and the Elementary leadership team to drive academic and pastoral outcomes. The successful candidate will teach within Years 1–3, uphold the UK National Curriculum and IPC where relevant, lead curriculum delivery (Read Write Inc,

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching the UK National Curriculum and/or the IPC across Key Stage 1 is required.
• Experience of leading a primary team, using pupil data to drive improvement, and working with Read Write Inc phonics frameworks, Singapore Maths or inquiry-based learning is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach a class within Years 1–3 while providing day-to-day academic and pastoral leadership across Key Stage 1
• Promote the Lasallian Mission and Core Values of SJIIS
• Lead and quality-assure the delivery of Read Write Inc., Singapore Maths, IPC and Science
• Ensure planning, assessment and reporting meet the expectations of the school
• Use pupil data to identify needs, inform interventions and drive improvement
• Ensure consistency of routines, expectations and standards across Key Stage 1
• Lead, coach and develop Heads of Year, teachers and teaching assistants
• Promote positive, collaborative relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school community
• Embed the school's behaviour, restorative and virtues-based approaches
• Actively contribute to wider school development and growth
• Demonstrate a proactive approach towards professional development
