Job summary

St. Joseph's Institution International School in Malaysia seeks an outstanding Elementary School Class Teacher & Upper School Coordinator (Years 4–6).

The role combines teaching with leadership across the Upper School, aligning classroom practice with strategic school goals. Responsibilities include delivering UK National Curriculum/IPC across KS2, leading a primary team, utilizing pupil data, and fostering Lasallian values to support student wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching UK National Curriculum and/or IPC across Key Stage 2.
• Experience leading a primary team and using pupil data to drive improvement.
• Familiarity with Singapore Maths, project-based or inquiry-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Teach a class within Years 4–6 and provide day-to-day academic/pastoral leadership across Key Stage 2.
• Promote the Lasallian Mission and Core Values of SJIIS.
• Lead Singapore Maths, IPC, Science and reading/writing provision quality delivery.
• Ensure planning, assessment and reporting meet school expectations.
• Use pupil data to identify needs, inform interventions and drive improvement.
• Maintain consistency of routines and standards across Key Stage 2.
• Lead, coach and develop Heads of Year, teachers and teaching assistants.
• Support pupils’ preparation and transition to secondary education.
• Foster positive, collaborative relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school community.
• Embed the school’s behaviour, restorative and virtues-based approaches.
• Contribute to wider school development and professional growth.
