Job summary

Sri KDU International School Klang is seeking a SENDCO for the Whole School to lead SEND strategy and oversee Autism Inclusion Classes starting January 2027. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with teachers, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

The incumbent will coach staff, manage the SEND Register, and develop IEPs while collaborating with parents and senior leadership to raise SEND provision across the campus.

Qualifications

• University degree required.
• Teacher professional certification specific to the position.
• Minimum of two full contract teaching years’ experience.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
• SENDCO qualification – or willingness to undertake this.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEND strategy and planning across the school.
• Oversee administration and operation of the Autism Inclusion Classes.
• Maintain the school’s SEND Register.
• Monitor interventions and support staff with SEND strategies.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers and Teaching Assistants.
• Perform the duties of a curriculum teacher within the Inclusion Centre.
• Establish effective running of Inclusion Classes’ curriculum.
• Develop a strategic plan to improve SEND provision, including for the AIC.
• Support teachers in writing IEPs and adaptive teaching strategies.
• Lead team meetings and ensure sharing of best practices.
• Collaborate with parents on IEPs and transition documents.
• Provide safeguarding and welfare leadership for SEND.
