Job summary

MIDTOWN GROUP BERHAD in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a full-time, on-site role to lead cost management on construction projects from estimate to final accounts. You will prepare and review BOQ, monitor budgets, evaluate variations, produce cost reports for stakeholders, and advise on contractual matters while supporting tender evaluations.

Qualifications

• Strong cost control and cost management skills.
• Experience in preparation, analysis, and management of BOQ and other quantity surveying documentation.
• Experience in cost planning, including estimating, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in cost reporting, including variance analysis and final accounts preparation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and relevant standards or regulations.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for on-site collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in relevant quantity surveying and project management software; advanced Excel skills are an advantage.
• Prior experience in a senior or lead quantity surveying role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all cost-related aspects of construction projects from initial estimates to final accounts.
• Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and monitor project budgets.
• Evaluate variations and produce accurate cost reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure cost planning and control.
• Advise on contractual matters and support tender evaluations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cost management processes on site.
