Job summary

AMICI FOOD SOLUTIONS SDN BHD, Johor Bahru, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef – Pastry to lead daily pastry and bakery production in our facility. You will supervise and mentor the production team, ensuring recipes are followed and deadlines are met.

We value strong leadership, hands-on pastry expertise, and the ability to plan production to meet orders while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of pastry and/or bakery production experience.
• Experience supervising and leading a production team.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, quality control, food hygiene and wastage management.
• Able to work independently and make operational decisions when required.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily pastry and bakery production.
• Plan daily production schedules according to orders and operational requirements.
• Supervise and guide Chef de Partie, Commis and junior production staff.
• Ensure products are prepared according to recipes, quality standards and production specifications.
• Monitor production progress and ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Manage manpower allocation and daily task assignments.
• Monitor raw material usage, stock requirements and wastage.
• Train and develop junior team members on production methods and standards.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace cleanliness.
