Job summary

Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Sous Chef - Pastry to assist in the efficient operation of the Pastry Department, aligning with Hyatt International's strategies and brand standards. You will support the Executive Pastry Chef in managing daily pastry production and administrative functions to ensure quality, safety, and presentation.

This role focuses on guest satisfaction, team development, and driving operational excellence in line with Hyatt standards.

Qualifications

• Ideally with an apprenticeship or professional diploma/degree in Culinary Education.
• Minimum 2 years working experience as Sous Chef - Pastry or 4 years as Chef de Partie - Pastry in international hotel or F&B establishments are preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards will be essential.
• Proficient in general computer knowledge, strong organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the efficient operation of the Pastry Department in line with Hyatt strategies and brand standards, while meeting the expectations of associates, guests, and owners.
• Support the Executive Pastry Chef in managing the pastry kitchen as a successful and profitable operation, including planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing daily production and administrative functions.
