Job summary

Celestica Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Process in Penang to design and industrialize scalable, safe manufacturing methods for heavy equipment and high-voltage assemblies. You will drive process improvements, develop layouts, and lead PFMEA/CAPA activities across cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes Lean/Six Sigma, 3D CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/Creo/Catia) and MES/ERP familiarity, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficient production.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in medium-to-high complexity manufacturing environments such as heavy equipment or similar.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with PFMEA/8D/5 Whys and CAPA.
• Familiarity with MES/ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods using Lean principles and Six Sigma.
• Design line layouts, workstations, and material flows for production.
• Specify, procure, and commission manufacturing equipment (heavy cranes, torque tools, AGVs, test equipment).
• Lead PFMEA, CAPA, and safety/quality protocols for high-voltage and heavy assemblies.
• Collaborate with Design and Quality Engineering to optimize NPI for scalable manufacturing.
• Provide DFM/DFA feedback to the product design team and manage process ownership.
