Job summary

Celestica in Penang, Malaysia seeks a Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Process to shape the production methods for large, heavy, high-voltage equipment. You will provide DFM/DFA feedback to design teams and lead production launches by designing scalable and safe manufacturing processes.

You will drive PFMEA, safety and quality protocols, and collaborate with Design and Quality Engineering to optimize new product introductions for efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Project management and process ownership in medium-to-high complexity manufacturing environments.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Design Engineering and Quality Engineering teams.
• Strong grounding in quality and continuous improvement methods, PFMEA, 8D, 5 Whys, CAPA.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods using Lean Manufacturing principles, value stream mapping, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Design line layouts, workstations, and material flows for production lines.
• Specify, procure, and commission manufacturing equipment, including heavy-duty cranes and testing equipment.
• Design or source specialized jigs, fixtures, and lifting beams for safe handling and assembly of heavy equipment.
• Integrate automation and smart factory technologies, data logging, and automated end-of-line testing.
• Lead PFMEA activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks.
• Develop and implement safety and quality protocols focused on high-voltage safety and heavy rigging.
• Create and maintain SOPs, routings, and work instructions.
