Job summary

Malaysia Steel Works (KL) Bhd (Masteel) seeks skilled machinists to operate lathes, milling, drilling and cutting machines in a busy shop. You will read basic drawings and technical specs, machine spare parts as directed by a supervisor, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in machining, and willingness to work shift hours, overtime, weekends and public holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have SPM, Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in machining or machine shop operations.
• Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate various machines including lathe, milling, drilling and cutting machines.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Perform machining of spare parts as per supervisor's request.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspection and basic troubleshooting of machine shop equipment.
• Handle ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisor.

Operate various machines, including a lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, and cutting machine

Read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and technical specifications accurately

Perform machining of spare parts according to the supervisor's request

Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and basic troubleshooting of machine shop equipment.

Perform any ad hoc tasks assigned by the superior from time to time

Job Requirements:

Candidate must possess an SPM, Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of work experience in machining or machine shop operations.

Proficient in operating lathes, milling machines, drilling, and cutting machines.

Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic technical specifications.

Willing to work on shift hours, overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required
