Job summary

Malaysia Steel Works (KL) Bhd (Masteel) seeks a skilled Mechanical Fitter to perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on plant equipment and machinery. The role includes fabrication with oxy-fuel gas and arc welding, plus precise installation and alignment using dial gauges.

Ideal candidates have a relevant certificate or diploma and 3–5 years in heavy manufacturing. Reading calipers and tapes is required; own transport to Jalan Tandang, Petaling Jaya is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification required.
• 3–5 years of experience as a mechanical fitter in heavy manufacturing.
• Welding with oxy-acetylene, MIG and SMAW processes.
• Able to read a measuring tape and calipers.
• Own transport to work at Jalan Tandang, Petaling Jaya.

1. Perform routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs of plant equipment and machinery like water pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and rollers

2. Perform fabrication work using oxygen or acetylene gas and electric arc welding equipment

3. Install, assemble, and align machines using precision tools like dial gauge indicators

Job Requirements:

1. Have a certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification

2. Have at least 3-5 years of working experience as a mechanical fitter in heavy manufacturing industries

3. Have the skill to cut using oxygen and acetylene gas, MIG, and SMAW (stick) welding

4. Able to read a measuring tape and calipers

5. Possess own transport to work at Jalan Tandang, Petaling Jaya
