Job summary

Kawan Food Berhad is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Selangor, Malaysia. The role requires a science background with a minimum SPM/STPM and offers opportunities for fresh graduates as well as those with up to 1 year of lab experience. You will work to maintain laboratory standards, perform daily tests, and ensure accurate record-keeping.

The position emphasizes lab safety, confidentiality, and proper handling of stored materials, with occasional additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / STPM (science background) or its equivalent.
• Preferably with at least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to interact with people at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily laboratory testing duties assigned.
• Maintain laboratory integrity and keep the environment clean and safe.
• Carry out maintenance on equipment that does not require specific qualification.
• Record and maintain testing results in worksheets/log books.
• Perform laboratory safety checks.
• Protect customer confidential information and proprietary rights.
• Clean sample containers and laboratory apparatus after use.
• Do not communicate test results to customers.
• Ensure stored materials are identified, allocated, preserved and protected.
• Additional job assigned from time to time.

Job description

To carry out the laboratory task in compliance with customer, statutory, regulatory and MS ISO/IEC 17025 Management System requirements.

To maintain laboratory integrity.

To carry out daily laboratory testing duties assigned.

To carry out maintenance on certain equipment (which does not require specific qualification).

Records and maintains the testing result in the worksheet / log book which will be verified by Microbiologist / Assistant Laboratory Manager / Laboratory Manager.

To carry out laboratory safety checking.

To protect the customer confidential information and proprietary rights.

Upkeeps the laboratory environment and housekeeping.

Cleans the sample containers and laboratory apparatus after used.

The Laboratory Technician is not allowed to communicate with the customers pertaining to the test result.

Ensures the stored material / goods are identified, allocated, preserved and protected at proper manner and environment.

Additional job assigned from time to time.

Job Requirement

Minimum SPM / STPM (science background) or its equivalent.
