Job summary

Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Lab Technician G1 to support the development and application of products in the Food Development & Application Department. You will conduct laboratory scale production of prototypes, perform scale-up tests, and assist with research, development and application activities.

The role requires a Diploma or equivalent in food science or related fields, with strong English and Bahasa Malaysia communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma or equivalent in relevant food science field.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia for both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory scale production of prototype for new or improved products.
• Conduct scale up tests from laboratory scale to commercial plant scale.
• Carry out physical and chemical property analyses on prototypes per SOPs including shelf life, flow ability, size distribution, and specific volume.
• Prepare and send samples for analysis to Q.C. Lab, Bio-Lab, or other labs as instructed.
• Calculate, prepare and maintain test data and analysis reports.
• Prepare and pack product samples for internal stock and distribution to customers.
• Participate in internal and external sensory tests.
• Ensure raw materials are used economically, labelled and preserved properly.
• Ensure equipment and tools are used correctly and maintained.
• Carry out packaging and packing tests per instructions and experimental design.

Job description

Lab Technician G1 in the Food Development & Application Department. The role involves laboratory scale production of prototypes for new or improved products, conducting scale up tests, and supporting product research, development, and application activities.

Key responsibilities

Perform laboratory scale production of the prototype for new or improved products

Conduct scale up tests from laboratory scale up to commercial plant scale

Carry out necessary physical and chemical properties on the prototype products according to approved Standard Operating Procedures including shelf life, flow ability, size distribution, specific volume and others

Prepare and send samples for analysis to Q.C. Lab, Bio-Lab, or any other analytical laboratories as instructed

Calculate, prepare and maintain test data and analysis reports in a systematic manner

Prepare and pack product samples for internal stock and distribution to customers

Participate in internal and external sensory tests

Ensure that raw material are used economically, labelled and preserved properly

Ensure that all equipment and tools are used correctly, maintained in good working order and stored in their proper places

Carry out packaging and packing test follow instruction and experiment design by related executive and supervisor
