Job summary

Ajinomoto is seeking a Lab Technician G1 in the Food Development & Application Department to support prototype production and product development. The role involves laboratory-scale production, scale-up testing, and assisting with research activities to bring new or improved products to the next stage.

You will be responsible for preparing samples for analysis, recording data, and maintaining packaging tests per approved procedures. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Advanced Diploma, Professional Certificates or equivalent in Food Technology / Nutrition / Dietetics, Science & Technology.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia for both spoken and written

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory scale production of the prototype for new or improved products.
• Conduct scale up tests from laboratory scale to commercial plant scale.
• Carry out physical and chemical property tests on prototypes per SOPs including shelf life, flowability, size distribution, specific volume, and others.
• Prepare and send samples for analysis to Q.C. Lab, Bio-Lab or other laboratories as instructed.
• Calculate, prepare and maintain test data and analysis reports in a systematic manner.
• Prepare and pack product samples for internal stock and distribution to customers.
• Participate in internal and external sensory tests.
• Ensure raw materials are used economically, labelled and preserved properly.
• Ensure equipment and tools are used correctly, maintained in good order and stored properly.
• Carry out packaging and packing tests following instructions and experimental design.

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory scale production of the prototype for new or improved products
• Conduct scale up tests from laboratory scale up to commercial plant scale
• Carry out necessary physical and chemical properties on the prototype products according to approved Standard Operating Procedures including shelf life, flow ability, size distribution, specific volume and others
• Prepare and send samples for analysis to Q.C. Lab, Bio-Lab, or any other analytical laboratories as instructed
• Calculate, prepare and maintain test data and analysis reports in a systematic manner
• Prepare and pack product samples for internal stock and distribution to customers
• Participate in internal and external sensory tests
• Ensure that raw material are used economically, labelled and preserved properly
• Ensure that all equipment and tools are used correctly, maintained in good working order and stored in their proper places
• Carry out packaging and packing test follow instruction and experiment design by related executive and supervisor
