Job summary

AMK Technology is seeking an experienced L2 Middleware Support Engineer in Malaysia to own production support, triage incidents, and troubleshoot complex middleware stacks including IBM WebSphere, WMQ, and WebMethods. Detailed Job Description:

As an L2 Middleware Support Engineer at AMK Technology in Malaysia, you will take full ownership of L2 production support, incident triage, complex troubleshooting, and performance monitoring across enterprise middleware and integration platforms. Your day-to-day responsibilities encompass maintaining IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), WebMethods, IBM WTX / ITX transformation engines, WebSphere MQ (WMQ) messaging queues, Apigee and Axway API gateways, and Azure / AKS containerized clusters. You will write complex Oracle SQL queries, execute UNIX shell scripts for log analysis, troubleshoot Electronic Data Interchange (EDI – X12, EDIFACT, XML) data flows, and perform rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on production incidents. Working in a fast-paced managed service and enterprise IT environment in Malaysia, you will drive operational reliability and integration stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert L2 production support, incident management, and technical troubleshooting across enterprise middleware and integration platforms.
• Administer, configure, monitor, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and clustered middleware environments.
• Support WebMethods enterprise service bus and IBM WTX / ITX data transformation mapping and translation solutions.
• Manage enterprise messaging infrastructures utilizing WebSphere MQ (WMQ) queues, channels, and topic subscriptions.
• Oversee API gateway architectures, traffic management, and security policies utilizing Apigee and Axway.
• Troubleshoot complex Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data flows supporting X12, EDIFACT, and XML message formats.
• Perform advanced database queries and log diagnostics utilizing Oracle SQL and UNIX shell scripting environments.
• Administer containerized integration workloads hosted on Microsoft Azure and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Conduct rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA), incident post-mortems, and performance tuning to eliminate recurring system bottlenecks.
• Collaborate proactively with L1/L3 support tiers, software developers, and enterprise clients during critical incident resolution.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 to 5+ years of professional experience in enterprise middleware administration, integration engineering, or L2 production support.
• Strong technical proficiency and hands-on operational experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere MQ (WMQ).
• Extensive practical expertise administering integration platforms including WebMethods and IBM WTX / ITX.
• Solid working knowledge of API gateway platforms (Apigee, Axway) and cloud integration architectures (Azure, AKS).
• Proven proficiency in Oracle SQL database querying and UNIX / Linux systems administration.
• Practical experience supporting EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT, XML) and data exchange protocols.
