Job summary

AMK is seeking a Software Developer to join the Applications Development team in Malaysia. The candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain SAS-based ETL solutions for MIS and analytical reporting in banking/finance domains.

Ideal applicants have 12+ years in SDLC, strong SAS/Data Integration expertise, and experience with data warehousing. The role emphasizes collaboration with PM/BA and other technical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of development experience with SAS ETL (SAS Data Integration).
• Domain knowledge in Banking/Financial, Risk Management, Regulatory Reporting (Basel II/III).
• Experience with SAS backend processes and troubleshooting.
• 12+ years in software development life cycle and processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, implement and maintain Business Enablers systems.
• Coordinate data enrichment between IT and business units for MIS and analytical reporting needs.
• Perform feasibility studies, gap analyses, and technical design for data profiling, cleansing, and transformation.
• Build SAS ETL programs to create SAS datasets from various data sources.
• Support testing, SAS batch execution, and system enhancements to improve performance.

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of development experience with SAS ETL (using SAS Data Integration)
• Candidates should have domain knowledge in at least of the following area: Banking and Financial, Risk Management, Regulatory Reporting and Basel II / Basel III
• Experienced with SAS backend process and troubleshooting.
• At least 12 years in software development life cycle and processes
• Experienced with Database model, Data model design and Risk Model implementation will be advantageous.
• Experienced with warehouse / big data implementation project will be advantageous.
• To be part of the applications development team responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining Business Enablers systems related projects/CRs.
• Coordination of data enrichment/enhancement projects and deliverables between IT and business units to support continuous business data dynamics required in the areas of MIS and analytical reporting needs.
• Analyze business requirements to perform feasibility studies / gap analysis / functional / technical design in the areas of data profiling, cleansing and transformation.
• Design / Document / Implement / Test / Deploy systems & solutions to meet the business needs.
• Build appropriate SAS ETL/ programs to create SAS datasets from various database, external data sources and other data sources based on business requirements.
• Reconstructing and managing specific data marts requirements and user data mapping from business perspective.
• Strategically planning for migratory / scalable data warehouse roadmap for future.
• Research and recommend technologies and solution design to fulfil business requirement.
• Work closely with Project Manager, Business Analyst and Technical Delivery teams to ensure quality of deliveries and streamlined with project timeline.
• Work closely with other organizational units and external parties in systems implementation.
• Responsible for technical / administration / operation and CAB documentations of supported systems.
• Must understand and follow security guidelines concerning confidential information.
• Assist on testing support, including SAS batch execution, support and monitoring.
• Proactively to seek for application enhancement to improve the performance and reduce batch load
• Serve as second level support to the system, including problem investigation, problem identification and enhance system changes (prevention/ permanent solution).
• Ensures compliance with local/ regional regulatory requirements (eg. BNM, MAS, etc.) and internal/external auditors.

Technical/Functional Skills

• Deep understanding of the SAS and Server applications to ensure ETL is generated efficiently and effectively
• In-depth knowledge of technical skills on programming languages such as SAS, SQL, scripting language, etc.
• Strong understanding in metadata, database model and business data model concept.
• Skilled in fine tune and optimizing complex SAS ETL, SAS batch and data integrations with assumption of future impact analysis can be conducted without guidance.
• Strong in analyze business requirements to perform feasibility studies, impact analysis, gap analysis based on current architecture, functional & technical design.
• Strong in Design concept, Documentation/ Proposal, Implement, Test, Deploy systems & end-to-end solutions to meet the business needs.
• Skilled in basic Data Profiling and Data Quality concepts and techniques.
• Good knowledge in Unix / Linux/ Windows interface.
• Understand and follows Group Project Life Cycle and System Development Life Cycle
• Good understanding in banking product and business domain and relevant data information.
• Good knowledge in Business Intelligence & Reporting Tool, Data Warehouse will be an added advantage.
• Experienced with building and operating data warehouse.
