Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in interior design, kitchen design, architectural technology, or related discipline.
• Proven experience in kitchen design and technical drafting within commercial/residential kitchens.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen layouts, workflow, and ergonomic design standards.
• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and installation specs.

About the role

We are seeking a talented Kitchen Design & Technical Executive to join our growing team in Sungai Petani, Kedah on a full-time basis. This is a key position that bridges design creativity with technical expertise, playing a vital role in the successful delivery of our kitchen projects. You will be responsible for translating client requirements into functional, aesthetically pleasing designs whilst ensuring all technical specifications and building regulations are met. This role is central to maintaining our reputation for quality and innovation in the kitchen design and equipment sector.

Key responsibilities

Create detailed kitchen designs and technical drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with building codes and client specifications

Conduct client consultations to understand design preferences, spatial constraints, and functional requirements

Develop design proposals that balance aesthetic appeal with practical functionality and budget considerations

Prepare technical documentation, including floor plans, elevation drawings, 3D renderings and installation specifications

Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution

Review and refine designs based on client feedback and technical feasibility assessments

Ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations, safety standards and industry guidelines

Manage project timelines and liaise with stakeholders to maintain project schedules

Maintain comprehensive project documentation and maintain accurate records of designs and modifications

Stay updated with industry trends, new materials, equipment innovations and design methodologies

What we're looking for

Diploma or degree in interior design, kitchen design, architectural technology, or a related discipline

Proven experience in kitchen design and technical drafting, preferably within the commercial or residential kitchen equipment sector

Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design tools

Strong knowledge of kitchen layouts, workflow principles, and ergonomic design standards

Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations and technical specifications relevant to kitchen installations

Excellent technical drawing and spatial visualisation skills

Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and professional documentation

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt designs to meet client needs and site constraints

Experience with 3D rendering software is advantageous

Knowledge of kitchen equipment brands, materials and finishing options is desirable
