About the Role
The Key Account Manager will provide support to the full commercial lifecycle at Luminarix – from prospecting and closing new merchants through to ongoing account servicing and relationship management. This is a hybrid sales / KAM role central to Luminarix's commercial engine, with additional scope to provide market intelligence and go-to-market support.
Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Sales pipeline support: prospecting, qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close across international direct merchants, PSPs, and local merchants.
- Build and maintain a structured CRM pipeline with accurate stage-tracking and forecasting.
- Develop pitch materials, pricing proposals, and commercial terms.
- Meet new-merchant acquisition and revenue targets.
Key Account & Relationship Management
- Serve as the point of commercial and relationship contact for onboarded merchants, from go-live onward.
- Conduct regular business reviews and check-ins to monitor account health, merchant user experience, and identify possible bottlenecks.
- Identify and execute upsell opportunities across payment channels and markets.
- Support renewals and contract amendment activities.
- Act as first point of escalation for merchant commercial concerns, coordinating with the relevant departments on operational issues (settlement, disputes) and Compliance on KYC refreshes or contract changes.
- Track account health indicators (volume trends, complaints, at-risk signals) and flag churn risk proactively.
Other Key Account Manager Activities
- Represent Luminarix at industry events; build market/competitor intelligence.
- Support positioning and collateral development with Marketing.
- Feed merchant and market feedback into Product roadmap.
Requirements
- 4 - 5years in B2B sales, business development, or account/relationship management, ideally in banking, payments, fintech, or financial services.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
- Track record of both closing new deals and retaining/growing existing accounts.
- Comfortable operating across the full sales lifecycle – from pre to post.
- Strong commercial acumen – comfortable negotiating pricing, contract terms, and renewals.
- Excellent stakeholder management across internal (Management team, Operations, Compliance, Finance) and external (merchants, PSPs) parties.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities in an early-stage fintech environment.
Nice to Have
- Existing network among merchants, PSPs, or payment industry contacts in Malaysia.
- Prior experience in a combined sales + account management role, or in a startup scaling its commercial function.
- Familiarity with Malaysian payments infrastructure (FPX, DuitNow, e-wallets, Cards).
