Job summary

CST Steel Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to manage contract administration for structural steel projects, covering pre- and post-tender stages.

You will review drawings, prepare bills of quantities in Excel, support procurement, and monitor budgets and cash flows. Fresh graduates are welcome; 5-day work week and medical benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience preferred in steel structure fabrication or similar; fresh graduates welcomed.
• Diploma or higher education in civil & structural engineering, QS or similar.
• Meticulous, analytical and eye for detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and tight schedules.
• Strong Excel skills and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review tender drawings and specifications to ensure all measurements and quantities are accounted for to achieve realistic commercial value for each project.
• Prepare bill of quantities using Excel, sourcing materials, and estimating material and labour costs for tenders.
• Prepare tender quotations for management review and client submission.
• Provide procurement support during contract phase and sourcing of vendors.
• Prepare monthly progress claims, including variation orders claims.
• Monitor project budget and perform cost controlling.
• Prepare cash flow data progressively.
• Finalize project accounts/claims.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Junior Quantity Surveyor (Structural Steel Works)

To manage the contract administration process, both pre and post tender stages.

Key responsibilities

Review tender drawings and specification to ensure all measurements and quantities are accounted for to achieve realistic commercial value for each project

Prepare bill of quantities which involves quantity take-off in excel sheet, materials sourcing, measuring, and estimating material and labour costs used in the tendering process

Prepare tender quotations for review with management and submission to clients

Provide procurement support during contract phase and sourcing of local and/or overseas vendors

Prepare monthly progress claims, including variation orders claims

Monitor project budget and perform cost controlling

Prepare cash flow data progressively

Finalize project accounts/claims

Perform other duties and task assigned by immediate supervisor

About you

Preferred with 2 years' experience in steel structure fabrication or similar field, but fresh graduates welcomed to apply

Diploma or higher education in civil & Structural engineering, quantity surveying or similar field

Meticulous, analytical and eye for detail

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and tight schedules

Highly motivated, self-driven with initiative to work independently

Sound computer literacy, including advance skills in excel

Advance level of English, in both written and spoken
