Job summary

Bintulu Tiong Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to prepare cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents and to manage tendering activities including evaluations and contract negotiations.

The role involves monitoring budgets, assessing variations, conducting value engineering, and preparing claims and final accounts while ensuring financial efficiency across projects in Sarawak.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–5 years (for junior/mid-level) or 5–10 years (for senior-level) relevant experience, ideally in Sarawak-based projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Excellent command of Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents. Manage the tendering process, including evaluation and contract negotiations.
• Monitor project budgets and control costs throughout the construction cycle.
• Assess variations and change orders, and provide cost impact reports.
• Conduct value engineering and provide cost-saving suggestions without compromising quality.
• Prepare progress payment claims, interim valuations, and final accounts.
• Work with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure financial efficiency.
• Perform site visits to validate work done before payments.
• Ensure all commercial and contractual risks are properly managed and reported.
