Job summary

TenAsia Corporation Sdn Bhd in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, is seeking a Junior Mechanical Draftsman to join our engineering team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on converting design concepts into detailed technical drawings and specifications that guide manufacturing and assembly.

You will work with senior engineers, use CAD tools such as AutoCAD, and contribute to drafting standards while learning 3D modelling and fabrication processes in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Drawing or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in mechanical CAD software; AutoCAD or similar essential.
• Understanding of ISO/ANSI drawing standards.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to translate specifications into detailed drawings.
• Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
• Experience with 3D modelling software is advantageous.

About the role

TenAsia Corporation Sdn Bhd is seeking a Junior Mechanical Draftsman to join our engineering team in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to develop their skills in mechanical design and drafting within a dynamic and growing organisation. As a Junior Mechanical Draftsman, you will play a crucial role in supporting our senior engineers by converting design concepts into detailed technical drawings and specifications that guide manufacturing and assembly processes. This position is integral to ensuring the accuracy and quality of our mechanical projects, and offers a solid foundation for career progression within the engineering sector.

Key responsibilities

Prepare detailed mechanical drawings and technical documentation using CAD software in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards

Assist senior engineers and designers in the development of mechanical designs and modifications to existing designs

Conduct dimensional checks and verify accuracy of drawings before submission to manufacturing departments

Incorporate feedback and revisions from senior staff and clients into updated technical drawings

Maintain comprehensive records of all drawings, versions and design changes using document management systems

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet functional requirements, cost objectives and manufacturing capabilities

Support the preparation of bills of materials and assembly instructions based on engineering drawings

Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting processes and standards within the department

What we're looking for

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Drawing or a related engineering discipline

Proficiency in mechanical CAD software, with experience in AutoCAD or similar industry-standard tools being essential

Strong understanding of mechanical principles, engineering standards and technical drawing conventions (ISO, ANSI or equivalent)

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and precise technical documentation

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team

Ability to interpret engineering specifications and translate them into clear, comprehensive technical drawings

Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn new skills and technologies

Experience with 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360 would be advantageous
