About the role

We aer seeking a skilled Drafter to join our engineering team on a full-time basis in Ulu Tiram, Johor. This is a crucial technical position that plays a vital role in translating engineering concepts and designs into precise technical drawings and documentation. As a Drafter, you will be responsible for creating accurate, detailed drawings and plans that guide the manufacturing, construction, and assembly processes across our operations. Your work will directly support our engineering teams and contribute to the successful delivery of projects on schedule and to specification.

What you'll be doing

• Producing accurate technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Converting engineering sketches and specifications into detailed working drawings suitable for manufacturing and construction
• Reviewing and interpreting engineering designs, technical specifications, and client requirements
• Ensuring all drawings comply with industry standards, regulations, and company specifications
• Collaborating with engineers and project managers to clarify design requirements and resolve technical issues
• Maintaining detailed records of all drawings and documentation, ensuring proper version control and filing systems
• Performing revisions and modifications to existing drawings based on feedback and updated specifications
• Assisting in the preparation of tender documents, quotations, and technical proposals
• Utilising CAD software proficiently to optimise drawing efficiency and accuracy
• Supporting the engineering team in quality assurance and design verification processes

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Certificate in Engineering Drafting, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Proven proficiency in CAD software, with expertise in AutoCAD being essential; familiarity with other design tools such as SolidWorks or Revit is advantageous
• Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a drafting or technical drawing role, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or engineering sectors
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards (ISO, BS standards)
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate drawings consistently
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with engineers and other stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards
• Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to contribute ideas and suggest design improvements
• Familiarity with carbon-related products, materials, or manufacturing processes is a plus
• Knowledge of Malaysian engineering and construction standards would be beneficial
