Amethyst Partners is seeking a Junior Fund Accountant to join our Kuala Lumpur team. The role focuses on fund accounting, NAV calculations, and coordination with auditors and offshore partners to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

The candidate will support daily operations, assist in coaching junior staff, and respond to client requests while maintaining high standards under pressure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 years of Fund Accounting experience, traditional/hedge fund exposure is an advantage
• Fresh Graduates May also Apply
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related
• Good Analytical and problem solving skills
• Team player with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Understand complex investment products, performance fee calculations and fund structures
• Prepare and review daily/monthly NAV calculations under tight deadlines
• Reconcile accounts and review reconciliations with offshore partners
• Review fund documents, operating memorandum and pricing policy
• Liaise with auditors and prepare financial statements and schedules
• Coach and develop junior team members for their development and the team
• Respond to client requests promptly and professionally
• Escalate operational control deficiencies and propose mitigations
• Participate in ad hoc projects

Job description

Our client is an international fund administration firm with a strong track region in the region. Due to expansion of business, they are looking for Junior Fund Accountants and the role is based in Kuala Lumpur.

Key responsibilities:

• Good understanding of complex investment products, performance fee calculations, various fund structures, side pockets and distribution
• Preparation and review of daily/monthly NAV calculation in an fast-paced environment with strict deadline
• Reconcile various accounts, or reviewing reconciliations prepared by offshore partners, promptly researching and correcting any variances
• Periodic review of fund documents, operating memorandum and pricing policy
• Liaison with auditors, including preparation of financial statements and audit support schedule
• Assist in coaching and developing junior team members for their individual development and for the overall benefit of the team. In so doing, foster and maintain strong team spirit and a healthy working atmosphere
• Ensure timely response to client requests in standard and non-standard situation
• Able to escalat in the event of any operational control deficiency and provide suggestion to mitigate such risks
• Participation in ad hoc projects
