Responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project schedules and timelines for IT projects and programmes within a banking environment. The IT Project Scheduler works closely with Project Managers, PMO, Business Analysts, Development, Testing, Infrastructure and vendors to ensure project activities are planned, sequenced and delivered according to approved timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed IT project schedules from project initiation through implementation and closure.
- Work with Project Managers and technical teams to define project activities, milestones, dependencies and deliverables.
- Establish project baseline schedules and maintain approved schedule versions.
- Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and detailed activity plans.
- Define activity durations, sequencing, dependencies and resource requirements.
- Identify critical path activities and monitor critical milestones.
- Track actual progress against planned schedules.
- Identify schedule delays, slippage and potential impact on project completion.
- Perform schedule variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain project milestone and dependency trackers.
- Coordinate schedules across multiple IT workstreams and projects.
- Manage cross-project dependencies between applications, infrastructure, testing, security, vendors and business teams.

- Prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports for PMO and senior management.
- Highlight schedule risks, dependencies, bottlenecks and resource constraints.
- Support project forecasting and expected completion-date analysis.
- Maintain project dashboards and schedule KPIs.
- Participate in project governance and steering committee meetings.
- Support Project Managers during project planning, re-baselining and recovery planning.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and schedule history for audit and governance purposes.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, Business or related field.
- 3–8+ years of experience in IT Project Scheduling / Project Controls / PMO.
- Strong hands-on experience with MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Strong understanding of WBS, dependencies, milestones and critical path analysis.
- Experience tracking project progress and schedule variance.
- Experience supporting large or complex IT projects.
- Good understanding of SDLC and IT project delivery.
- Experience coordinating multiple technical workstreams.
- Strong Excel and reporting skills.
- Banking / financial-services experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
