Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple IT projects, translating business requirements into technical solutions and presenting proposals for approval.

You will coordinate resources, manage risks, and ensure PMO processes are followed while driving process improvements across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT or Diploma with Professional Certifications.
• 5+ years in leadership experience, successfully managing and deployment of IT projects.
• Experience and knowledge in traditional, cloud architectures for network, servers, database, storage and middleware.
• Planning and organisational skills for undertaking team leadership and BAU workload management.
• Self-driven with a positive attitude and strong leadership to champion culture change within IT with stakeholders
• Strong communication, conflict management, and risk communication.
• Good analytical skills and problem solving; team player who can lead brainstorms.
• Knowledge of risk management techniques and applications.
• Experience with multiple internal and external teams (business and IT).
• Understanding SDLC and Project Management methodologies.
• Must have PMP or PRINCE; ITIL is an advantage.
• Knowledge of technology security, CCNA/CCNP, Windows, VMware, AD, SCCM, O365, IP-phone etc.
• High integrity, accountability and adaptability to change.

Responsibilities

• In-charge and provide oversight for a few IT projects, manage and control progress for ongoing projects. Deliver projects within scope and timelines with the resources allocated, whilst ensuring quality
• Manage internal business and other stakeholders to understand and analyse business requirements, translate business IT requirements to technical requirements.
• Work out full-scaled and precise proposal with technical solution team and presentation to management for approval
• Work with various governance functions and stakeholders within the insurance company organization in the areas of project risks management and procurements.
• Coordinate and communicate resource and define clear roles with all project resources.
• Handle and manage major projects as Project Manager role.
• Ensure all projects follows and comply with PMO processes.
• Continuously strive to improve and innovate the current processes
• Provide accurate and comprehensive status of projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or Diploma with Professional Certifications.
• 5+ years in leadership experience, successfully managing and deployment of IT projects
• Experience and knowledge in traditional, cloud architectures and technologies for network, servers, database, storage and middleware.
• Planning and organisational skills for undertaking team leadership and BAU workload management.
• Self-driven with a positive attitude and strong leadership skills to champion for culture change management initiatives within IT and with interfacing Business stakeholders
• Strong and factual communication skills and able to manage situations/conflicts and influence others, ability to communicate Project Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies clearly
• Good analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving. Team player who can lead in brainstorm session with peers to problem solve and make decisions.
• Good understanding and application of risk management techniques and its application
• Experience working with multiple internal and external teams (business and IT)
• Understanding of various Software Development Lifecycle and Project Management methodologies
• Must have Project Management Certifications (PMP or PRINCE); Industrial certification (ITIL) is an advantage.
• Ability to understand business processes and financial functions are a plus.
• Good-to-have the knowledge of Technology Security or Risk Certifications; Network fundamentals: CCNA or CCNP; Windows, VMware VSI/VDI, AD, SCCM, Storage, Backup, HCI, O365, IP-phone, etc.
• Experience of Technology vendors, and associated product/service offering and industry technology trends as well as IT security, Risk Management and Security Control will be an advantage.
• High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
• Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
