Job summary

Erudite Innovation in Malaysia seeks an experienced IT Project Manager to lead security projects within a banking environment, ensuring delivery on time, budget, and in line with security policies and regulatory requirements.

You will coordinate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Application, Network, Risk, Compliance and Audit teams; manage budgets, RAID logs, and vendor performance; drive security testing and remediation activities, and ensure governance through regular status updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
• 5–10+ years of IT Project Management experience, preferably in banking/financial services.
• Proven experience managing IT Security / Cybersecurity projects.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity domains (IAM/PAM, network security, SIEM, application security).
• Experience in banking or highly regulated environments and SDLC methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management; excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of IT Security and Cybersecurity projects.
• Define scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables and resources.
• Coordinate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Application, Network, Risk, Compliance and Audit teams.
• Manage budgets, RAID logs, issue logs and status reports.
• Ensure security requirements are incorporated into design, testing and implementation.
• Coordinate security assessments, vulnerability testing (VAPT) and remediation activities.
• Ensure compliance with banking security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Organise governance meetings and present status to management and steering committees.
• Oversee UAT, security testing, deployment and post-implementation activities.

Job Summary

Responsible for managing and delivering IT Security projects within a banking environment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with the bank’s security policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of IT Security and Cybersecurity projects from initiation through implementation and closure.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, deliverables, milestones, and resource requirements.
• Manage security projects such as:
• Identity & Access Management (IAM)
• Privileged Access Management (PAM)
• Security Information & Event Management (SIEM)
• Endpoint Security / EDR
• Vulnerability Management
• Network Security / Firewall
• Application Security
• Security Operations / SOC transformation
• Cybersecurity compliance and remediation
• Work closely with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Application, Network, Risk, Compliance and Audit teams.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, system integrators and third-party service providers.
• Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, issue logs, dependency trackers and project status reports.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks, security risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
• Ensure security requirements are incorporated into project design, development, testing and implementation.
• Coordinate security assessment, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing (VAPT), risk assessment and remediation activities.
• Ensure projects comply with applicable banking security policies, regulatory requirements and internal governance frameworks.
• Manage project budgets, resources, procurement activities and vendor performance.
• Organise project governance meetings and present project status to senior management and steering committees.
• Coordinate UAT, security testing, implementation, production deployment and post-implementation activities.
• Ensure proper documentation, knowledge transfer and project closure.
• Track security findings and ensure remediation activities are completed within agreed timelines.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security or related field.
• 5–10+ years of IT Project Management experience, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Proven experience managing IT Security / Cybersecurity projects.
• Strong understanding of:

Banking / Regulatory Knowledge

Candidates with exposure to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) requirements, RMiT (Risk Management in Technology), cybersecurity risk management, IT audit, regulatory compliance and security governance would be highly preferred.
