Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a motivated IT Specialist to support day-to-day technology needs, including desktop support, systems administration, and network maintenance. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in IT support and infrastructure, with 3+ years of experience; FPGA/semiconductor exposure is a strong plus as this role will assist engineering teams using specialized design tools.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional IT or technical support experience.
• Working knowledge of Windows and/or Mac OS environments.
• Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 or similar tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-service oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1/2 technical support for end users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Administer user accounts and access in Active Directory / Microsoft 365.
• Support and maintain local network infrastructure and basic firewall config.
• Assist onboarding/offboarding, hardware provisioning, and account setup.
• Monitor system performance and help manage servers, backups, and basic virtualization.
• Support software installations, updates, licenses, and engineering tools where applicable.
• Maintain documentation of IT assets and support tickets.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or vendors when needed.
• Assist with basic IT security practices, patches, endpoint protection, and access reviews.
• Support conference rooms, A/V equipment, and general office tech.
• Provide virtual support to other APAC regions as needed.
