Job summary

NTT DATA in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an IT Support Engineer (Desktop/End-User Support) to provide frontline technical assistance to clients and internal users.

You will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, install and upgrade OS and applications, and work with remote connections. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of desktop support experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel after hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology is required.
• 2-4 years of work experience as a desktop support engineer or support technician.
• Advanced knowledge of computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules, and peripherals.
• Knowledge of popular operating systems, software applications, and remote connection systems.
• Ability to solve complex hardware and software issues.
• Ability to travel and work after hours when necessary.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responding to client support requests; contacting clients to diagnose problems.
• Traveling to client locations or connecting via remote link.
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Installing and maintaining hardware and computer peripherals.
• Installing and upgrading operating systems and software.
• Troubleshooting networking and connection issues.
• Advising on software or hardware upgrades.
• Providing basic training in computer operation and management.
• Completing job reports and ordering supplies.
