Job summary

Valued System Advisor Sdn Bhd in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia is seeking an IT Resident Engineer to join our IT team. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and software while working closely with end-users to ensure optimal performance.

Key responsibilities include desktop and peripheral support, troubleshooting, system updates, on-site and remote assistance, data backup, and network setup.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in IT support or technical support is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with computer hardware repair and component replacement.
• Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems is an added advantage.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willing to travel on short notice
• Willing to work outside normal office hours when required.
• Possess own transport and valid driving license is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
• Perform regular system updates, security patches, and antivirus maintenance.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to end-users.
• Backup and restore data as needed.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi).
• Document technical issues, resolutions, and asset inventory.
• Advise on hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance.
