The IT Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the company’s IT hardware, network infrastructure, software, and end-user systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth and reliable IT operations across the organization.
The IT Engineer will work closely with employees, internal departments, and external vendors to resolve technical issues and support the implementation and maintenance of IT systems.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
Configure and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, network devices, and connectivity issues.
Diagnose and resolve common network, hardware, and software problems in a timely manner.
Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot Microsoft Office, WPS Office, and other business applications.
Perform routine maintenance and inspection of IT equipment and systems.
Set up IT equipment and system access for new employees.
Maintain IT asset records, equipment inventory, and software license information.
Assist in managing user accounts, access permissions, and IT security requirements.
Monitor network and system performance and elevate complex issues when necessary.
Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
Assist with system upgrades, IT projects, equipment replacement, and technology implementation.
Maintain proper documentation of IT issues, solutions, configurations, and maintenance activities.
Provide IT support to production and other operational departments when required.
Ensure compliance with company IT policies, procedures, and information security requirements.
Perform other IT-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
2–5 years of relevant experience in IT support, infrastructure, networking, or a similar role.
Experience in a manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
Good knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and office applications.
Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and resolve technical issues effectively.
Good communication skills and ability to provide technical support to users with different levels of IT knowledge.
Willing to work overtime or provide IT support outside normal working hours when required.
Familiar with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of common hardware devices, including PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
Familiar with basic Local Area Network (LAN) configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Possess fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP, IP addresses, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, switches, and network connectivity.
Able to identify and troubleshoot common network connection and access issues.
Proficient in the use and troubleshooting of common office applications such as Microsoft Office and WPS Office.
Familiar with Windows operating systems and basic software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Able to analyze technical issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions.
Able to prioritize and resolve IT incidents efficiently.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical employees.
Good customer-service mindset when handling user requests and technical issues.
Knowledge of Active Directory and user account management.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office 365.
Knowledge of IT asset management and helpdesk/ticketing systems.
Basic understanding of cybersecurity and endpoint protection.
Experience with ERP, MES, or manufacturing-related IT systems is an advantage.
