The IT Onsite Support Engineer will provide hands-on IT support and infrastructure services for the manufacturing plant, ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of IT systems supporting daily business and plant operations. The role will provide onsite support covering hardware, software, network infrastructure, servers, printers, LAN, switches, and other IT equipment, as well as the administration and maintenance of critical PI and TESSA systems.
Key responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical support for PCs, laptops, workstations, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and application issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and replace IT hardware and peripherals.
- Provide technical assistance to plant users and resolve IT incidents in a timely manner.
- Support and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, network switches, routers, Wi-Fi, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Monitor network connectivity and infrastructure performance.
- Support and maintain Windows/Linux servers and virtual environments such as VMware and/or Hyper-V.
- Perform server monitoring, patching, maintenance, backup, and troubleshooting.
- Support the administration and maintenance of PI Data Archive / PI System and TESSA application servers.
- Log and manage incidents, service requests, and changes using the company's ITSM/ticketing system.
About you
- Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in IT infrastructure, onsite support, systems engineering, or a manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands‑on experience in onsite IT support and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of LAN/WAN, switches, routers, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting Windows/Linux servers and VMware and/or Hyper-V.
- Strong hardware and software troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience supporting PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and effectively in a manufacturing/plant environment.
- Willing to provide hands‑on support during critical incidents, system upgrades, and maintenance activities.
