Job summary

Extreme Reach, Inc. is seeking a CloudOps Engineer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to design, develop, and document scalable cloud infrastructure and monitoring solutions supporting our video advertising platform.

You will work with cross-functional teams on requirements, deployments, automation, security, and continuous improvement of cloud operations, including on-call rotation across APAC/UK-EMEA/US during weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong monitoring and incident management capabilities for production systems.
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Automate manual ops tasks to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
• Identify areas to improve reliability and reduce incidents.
• Manage and support proactive monitoring across Production environments.
• Analyze recurring Live issues and facilitate developer investigations.
• Provide Tier 3 support for Extreme Reach production infrastructure across a 3-shift rotation (APAC, UK/EMEA, US) with on-call coverage.
• Act as first responder for infrastructure incidents and perform RCA reports.
• Implement corrective actions to avoid recurring issues.
• Create and manage automated infrastructure solutions and configuration management.
• Assist developers in debugging bugs to speed triage and fixes.
• Understand large-scale on-prem and cloud mission critical systems, networking, security, scalability, and performance KPIs.

Job description

The CloudOps Engineer will use their expertise to design, develop, and document our cloud infrastructure, and cloud monitoring solutions. This individual will work with team members to gather requirements and deploy cloud technology to help scale our platform used to power the world’s video advertising. The role involves monitoring production environments, incident management, troubleshooting, deployments, automation, security, and continuous improvement of cloud operations.

• Automate manual ops tasks to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
• Identify areas where systems can be improved to increase system reliability and reduce system incidents.
• Manage and support proactive monitoring solutions across the Production environment
• Look for trends and themes in issues reported in Live Applications and facilitate investigations by Developers to avoid repeated occurrences
• Perform actions on the Product codebase (backend/frontend) for real-time diagnosis of major incidents in Live systems
• Perform analysis and reporting on frequently occurring Live problems
• Deliver Tier 3 support for Extreme Reach production infrastructure across a 3-shift rotation (APAC, UK/EMEA, US), providing 24x7 on-call coverage during Weekend & Public Holiday to resolve complex issues to maintain critical service availability and reliability.
• Act as a first responder for infrastructure and production incidents.
• Perform root-cause analysis and prepare incident/RCA reports.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurring incidents.
• Creates and manages Automated Infrastructure solutions. Automated builds and configuration management.
• Assist Developers who are fixing bugs to understand the detail and user scenarios around reported bugs to accelerate triage and fixing
• Understands the fundamentals of large scale on-prem and cloud mission critical systems; networking, security, redundancy, scalability, monitoring, & performance KPIs.
