Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Lead to oversee local Infrastructure and Application Operations, ensuring high availability across Azure and AWS. You will coordinate with global peers, manage people, and drive operational excellence.

The role focuses on scalable processes, incident management, and continuous improvement, with leadership across time zones and teams to deliver reliable cloud services.

Qualifications

• Proven background managing infrastructure and application operations in cloud environments.
• Experience in end-to-end people management, hiring, performance reviews, and exits.
• Strong knowledge of Azure and/or AWS hosting, logging, and availability management.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and CloudWatch.
• Ability to coordinate across time zones and international teams.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical tasks with automation focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage local Cloud Operations teams spanning Infrastructure Operations (cloud provisioning, deployments, platform availability) and Application Operations (monitoring, configuration, performance optimization).
• Collaborate with peer Cloud Operations Managers across time zones to align priorities and oversee incidents and problem resolution.
• Drive day-to-day general management and people leadership, including hiring, performance reviews, and establishing team standards.
• Maintain continuous availability, security, stability, and performance for 25+ customer-facing SaaS and cloud workloads on Azure and AWS.
• Partner with Cloud Architect to review, validate, and execute architectural decisions across the hosting landscape.
• Design and implement operational processes to support availability outside regular business hours as the platform scales.

Job Scope

• Team Leadership: Manage the local Cloud Operations team(s) covering both Infrastructure Operations (cloud provisioning, deployments, platform availability) and Application Operations (monitoring, configuration, performance optimization).
  

• Global Coordination: Collaborate closely with peer Cloud Operations Managers across multiple time zones to align priorities and oversee incident and problem resolution.
  

• General & People Management: Drive day-to-day general management and people leadership, including hiring, conducting performance reviews, managing exits, and establishing team-wide operational standards.

• Platform Reliability: Maintain continuous availability, security, stability, and performance for 25+ customer-facing SaaS and cloud-hosted workloads across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  

• Architecture Governance: Partner directly with the Cloud Architect to review, validate, and execute architectural decisions across the hosting landscape.
  
• Operational Frameworks: Help design and implement operational processes to support availability outside regular business hours as the platform scales.
  

Requirements

• Operational Leadership: Proven background managing Infrastructure Operations, Application Operations, or Technical Application Management teams within cloud environments.

• People & General Management: Demonstrated experience handling end-to-end people management, including talent acquisition, hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary actions or exits, and establishing team operational standards.

• Cloud Platform Knowledge: Solid technical understanding of Microsoft Azure and/or AWS services, hosting patterns, logging, monitoring, and availability management.

• Tooling Proficiency: Hands‑on operational experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and AWS CloudWatch.

• Cross-Regional Collaboration: Demonstrated capability to coordinate and communicate effectively across international borders, distributed teams, and varying time zones.

• Operational Execution: Ability to translate functional business needs into structured technical tasks, supported by a strong drive toward automation and continuous operational improvement
