San Soon Seng Food Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced IT Assistant Manager to lead our Information Technology department in Sungai Buloh, Selangor. This full-time role bridges daily IT operations with strategic technology initiatives, delivering reliable services while guiding the team through growth and transformation.

You will oversee networks, servers and security, manage budgets, vendor relationships and drive best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in IT support/IT administration or related role.
• Experience in supervisory/assistant management within an IT environment.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure incl. networks, servers, systems administration and cybersecurity principles.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux OS and Active Directory management.

About the role

San Soon Seng Food Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced IT Assistant Manager to join our Information Technology department on a full-time basis. Based in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, this is a pivotal position that bridges operational IT support with strategic technology initiatives. As IT Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing day‑to‑day IT operations, managing technical teams, and ensuring that our technology infrastructure supports the company's business objectives and growth. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our digital transformation journey whilst developing your leadership and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the IT department, ensuring efficient delivery of IT services and support
• Supervise, train, and mentor IT support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
• Manage IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, systems and security to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Develop and implement IT policies, procedures and best practices aligned with industry standards
• Support the planning, implementation and maintenance of IT systems and technology solutions across the organisation
• Manage IT budgets, procurement of hardware and software, and vendor relationships
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide escalation support when required
• Coordinate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate IT solutions
• Ensure data security, backup protocols and business continuity measures are in place and regularly tested
• Monitor system performance and undertake preventive maintenance to minimise downtime

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT support, IT administration or a related technical role
• Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management capacity within an IT environment
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, systems administration and cybersecurity principles
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems and Active Directory management
• Familiarity with IT service management tools and ticketing systems
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to think analytically about technical challenges
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in project management and the ability to balance multiple priorities
• Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Associate or ITIL Foundation are highly desirable
• Knowledge of food industry operations or manufacturing environments is a plus
