Job summary

Rock Maestro Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is seeking a dedicated IT Administrator to support our technology infrastructure and ensure seamless IT operations. This full-time role involves maintaining systems, troubleshooting, and optimising networks to minimise downtime and enable secure business continuity.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in IT support, strong OS knowledge, and experience with network administration.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in IT support or administrator role.
• Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux.
• Experience with network administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Certs such as CompTIA A+/Network+ or Microsoft are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and networking equipment.
• Provide first and second-line technical support to end users, resolving hardware and software issues.
• Monitor system performance and implement preventative maintenance measures.
• Manage user accounts, access permissions, and security protocols.
• Back up critical data and manage disaster recovery procedures.
• Install and update software applications, operating systems, and security patches.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and optimise network performance.
• Document IT infrastructure, configurations, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with IT team to implement technical solutions.
• Support deployment of new hardware and software systems.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented IT Administrator to join our team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our organisation's technology infrastructure and ensuring seamless IT operations. As an IT Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising our systems and networks, providing essential technical support to staff across the organisation. This role is instrumental in enabling our teams to work efficiently and securely whilst minimising downtime and ensuring business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and networking equipment
• Provide first and second-line technical support to end users, responding to helpdesk tickets and resolving hardware and software issues
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement preventative maintenance measures
• Manage user accounts, access permissions, and security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance
• Back up critical data and manage disaster recovery procedures to protect organisational assets
• Install and update software applications, operating systems, and security patches
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and optimise network performance
• Document IT infrastructure, configurations, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with other IT team members to implement technical solutions and improvements
• Support the deployment of new hardware and software systems across the organisation

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in an IT support or administrator role, typically 2-4 years in a similar position
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
• Experience with network administration and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Proficiency in Active Directory management and user account administration
• Familiarity with hardware components, peripherals, and basic server maintenance
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection principles
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• Attention to detail and organisational skills for managing multiple tasks
• Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are advantageous
• Experience with ticketing systems and IT asset management tools is preferred
