Job summary

Oleon, a business unit of Avril, is offering an internship at Pulau Indah, Port Klang for students in Chemical Engineering/Science. You will support daily operations and assist with P&ID readings, onsite validation, and HAZOP preparation while learning risk assessments and process safety principles.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop practical skills, and gain exposure to a wide range of oleochemical processes in a global company.

Qualifications

• You are pursuing at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering/Science or related field.
• You can converse in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
• You have basic computer skills – Word & Excel.
• You can commit to a 6-month duration.
• You have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office & AutoCAD.
• You are willing to learn and be proactive.
• You are willing to work at Pulau Indah, Port Klang.

Responsibilities

• P&ID Reading and Interpretation: read and compare as-built with actual plant.
• OnsiteValidation Techniques: validate P&IDs and plant layouts.
• HAZOPPreparation and Documentation: support hazard studies documentation.
• RiskAssessment Methodology: learn hazard identification and risk evaluation.
• Exposure to Process Safety: participate in process safety activities.

We are looking for an internship to furthersupport the team.

As an internship, you will supportthe team on the daily operations and other ad hoc task.

Some of your main duties & responsibilities

• P&IDReading and Interpretation: Gain hands-onexperience in reading and understanding Process & InstrumentationDiagrams (P&IDs) by comparing as-built documents with actual siteconditions
• OnsiteValidation Techniques: Develop practicalskills in onsite validation of P&IDs, identifying discrepancies, andunderstanding physical plant layouts
• HAZOPPreparation and Documentation: Learn to prepareessential documentation for HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies,contributing to critical safety evaluations for the Phase 1 plant
• RiskAssessment Methodology: Understandfoundational concepts of HAZOP risk assessment, including how to identifyand assess potential hazards in a processing plant
• Exposureto Process Safety: Gain insight into keyprocess safety principles, which are critical in the chemical industry,through direct involvement in the HAZOP preparation process
• Collaborative Skills: Work closely withcross-functional teams, improving communication skills and gaining anunderstanding of different roles within the plant

You’ll succeed if

• You are currently pursuing at least Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering/ Science or any engineering studies to related field
• You can converse: English & Bahasa Malaysia
• You have basic computer skills – Microsoft Word & Excel
• You can commit duration: 6months
• You can possess good interpersonal & communication skills
• You have proficiency in Microsoft Office & Autocad
• You are willing & open to learn
• You are proactive & strong initiative
• You are willing to work in Pulau Indah, Port Klang
