Job summary

Oleon invites a motivated student to join our team for a 6-month internship at Pulau Indah, Port Klang. You will support daily operations and various ad hoc tasks in a chemical processing environment.

Your role includes hands-on P&ID reading, onsite validation, HAZOP preparation, and risk assessment activities, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and building practical process safety experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering/Science or related field
• Basic computer skills – Microsoft Word & Excel

Responsibilities

• P&ID Reading and Interpretation: read and compare P&IDs with as-built documentation
• Onsite Validation Techniques: validate P&IDs on site and identify discrepancies
• HAZOP Preparation and Documentation: contribute to HAZOP study documentation
• Risk Assessment Methodology: learn risk assessment concepts for processing hazards
• Exposure to Process Safety: gain insight into process safety principles in a chemical plant
• Collaborative Skills: work with cross-functional teams and improve communication

We are looking for an internship to further support the team.

As an internship, you will support the team on the daily operations and other ad hoc task.

Some of your main duties & responsibilities:

• P&ID Reading and Interpretation: Gain hands-on experience in reading and understanding Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) by comparing as-built documents with actual site conditions
• Onsite Validation Techniques: Develop practical skills in onsite validation of P&IDs, identifying discrepancies, and understanding physical plant layouts
• HAZOP Preparation and Documentation: Learn to prepare essential documentation for HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies, contributing to critical safety evaluations for the Phase 1 plant
• Risk Assessment Methodology: Understand foundational concepts of HAZOP risk assessment, including how to identify and assess potential hazards in a processing plant
• Exposure to Process Safety: Gain insight into key process safety principles, which are critical in the chemical industry, through direct involvement in the HAZOP preparation process
• Collaborative Skills: Work closely with cross-functional teams, improving communication skills and gaining an understanding of different roles within the plant

Who are we looking for?

You'll succeed if:

• You are currently pursuing at least Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering/ Science or any engineering studies to related field
• You can converse: English & Bahasa Malaysia
• You have basic computer skills – Microsoft Word & Excel
• You can commit duration: 6months
• You can possess good interpersonal & communication skills
• You have proficiency in Microsoft Office & Autocad
• You are willing & open to learn
• You are proactive & strong initiative
• You are willing to work in Pulau Indah, Port Klang
