Job summary

Ascent Education Sdn. Bhd. is recruiting an International School Teacher to cover Mandarin, Art & Design and English for primary and secondary students in Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia.

The role includes preparing schemes of work, delivering engaging lessons, and assessing student progress. A Bachelor’s Degree in Education and at least 2 years of international teaching experience are required; familiarity with Cambridge IGCSE is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Various subject teacher for primary/secondary school

Art and Design

Prepare scheme of work and lesson plans of the assigned teaching subject;

Deliver lessons effectively according to the learning ability of the students within the class;

Preparing, administering and grading tests and assignments to evaluate student’s progress.

Assigning and grading class work and homework.

Assess and evaluate students’ learning progress and prepare relevant reports for the Academic Head and/parents;

Follow up on student attendance, progress in class (remedial), etc.

Keep abreast with the latest teaching pedagogy and technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning;

Maintain a high standard of student engagement, progress and behaviour during the lessons to facilitate effective learning.

Participate in the parent information sessions, parent/ teacher meetings, and school meetings.

Support school activities and functions.

To possess Good Command of English is a MUST for this role.

To be technology savvy and able to handle online classes effectively.

Job Requirements:

Minimum with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Teaching/Training; or in equivalent professional qualifications.

Minimum 2 years of experience in teaching profession, with a broad and thorough knowledge in the appointed teaching subject.

Teaching experience in international school or in Cambridge IGCSE curriculum or equivalent is required.

Demonstrates experience in inspiring students in a stimulating learning environment.

Demonstrates experience of using ICT to promote learning.

Strong commitment and passion for education.

Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular education.

Highly motivated, responsible, compassionate, ambitious, willing to learn and innovative.

Demonstrate empathy, humility and genuinely care about children, taking the time to listen and motivate them.

Good communication and interpersonal skills; well verse in presentations; computer literate.

The ability to teach an additional subject would be an advantage.
