Job summary

Taylor's Education Group is seeking a Mandarin Teacher for Primary to commence in January 2027. The successful candidate will teach Mandarin up to Upper Primary and must have strong spoken and written English.

Key responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, organizing classroom resources, and supporting pastoral duties. The role requires collaboration with colleagues and parents within a large Malaysian private education group based in Kuala Lumpur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education or related field.
• PGCE or equivalent preferred.
• Able to teach Mandarin to primary/upper-primary level.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in an international school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to classes of different ages and abilities.
• Organise classroom and resources to create a positive learning environment.
• Undertake pastoral duties and support students individually.
• Manage student behaviour and maintain discipline in and out of the classroom.
• Motivate students with engaging, interactive lessons.
• Prepare and mark work to track progress.
• Communicate with parents about student progress.
• Coordinate activities and resources within the curriculum area.
• Organise school events and activities, including weekends or evenings.

Job description

Mandarin Teacher for Primary is required to commence in January 2027. We are seeking suitably qualified teachers who can teach Mandarin lessons up at to Upper Primary. In addition to the Chinese language, the incumbent must possess good command of spoken and written English.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities.
• Organizing the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment
• Undertaking pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting students on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties.
• Managing student behaviour in the classroom and on school premises,and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour.
• Motivating students with enthusiastic, interactive presentation
• Preparing and marking work to facilitate positive students' development
• Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of students' development
• Communicating with parents over students' progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' meeting and whole school training events.
• Coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
• Organizing and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Education or related field.
• Preferably with Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent.
• Able to teach Mandarin subject for secondary level.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in an international school is preferred.
