Private Advertiser International School in Malaysia is looking for an English Teacher (First Language) to teach Primary and Secondary students. You will deliver engaging lessons and help students develop reading, writing, speaking and literature skills.
The ideal candidate holds a BA in English or education, a recognised teaching qualification, and at least two years of international or private school experience, with strong classroom management and excellent English.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher (First Language) to join our International School and teach students at Primary and Secondary levels.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons, developing students’ proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and critical thinking, and supporting their overall academic development.
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English First Language lessons for Primary and Secondary students.
Teach key areas including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking and literature in accordance with the school curriculum.
Develop students’ ability to communicate confidently and effectively in both written and spoken English.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments and other learning resources.
Assess, monitor and report on students’ academic progress and provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
Differentiate lessons to meet the learning needs and abilities of individual students.
Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with other teachers, school leaders and relevant departments to support curriculum development and school initiatives.
Communicate professionally with parents regarding students’ progress and development when required.
Participate actively in school activities, events, meetings, professional development and co-curricular programmes.
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, TESL/TESOL or a related field.
A recognised teaching qualification is an added advantage.
Preferably at least 2 years of relevant teaching experience, particularly in an international or private school environment.
Experience teaching English as a First Language at Primary and/or Secondary level is highly desirable.
Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum / Cambridge English First Language would be an added advantage.
Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Strong classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills.
