Job summary

Ruma Home Sdn Bhd invites an accounting intern to support daily finance tasks in Malaysia. You will enter supplier invoices, match with documents, and follow up on pending items, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

You will assist in journal entries, bank reconciliations, and compiling documents for external audits and tax filings. Proficiency in Google Sheets/Docs, MS Office, and SQL accounting software is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
• Good written and spoken English communication.
• Disciplined, trustworthy and able to handle confidential matters independently.
• Familiar with Google Sheets/Docs or Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with SQL Accounting Software; other systems considered.
• Proactive attitude with willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Assist in entering supplier/vendor invoices into the accounting system (SQL)
• Match invoices with supporting documents according to SOP
• Follow up with other departments for pending or incomplete documents
• Maintain proper filing of payment vouchers and related documents
• Assist in data entry for journal entries and general ledger transactions
• Support the preparation of bank reconciliation reports
• Help compile supporting documents for external audit and tax agent
• Support the tracking and recording of fixed assets or prepaid expenses if applicable
• Assist in compiling tax-related documents and summaries
• Support research on current tax practices or compliance matters (e.g., SST, WHT, income tax)
• Participate in finance projects, system updates or internal process improvements
• Assist with any additional duties assigned by the superior or finance team

Requirements

Candidates must currently pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in written and spoken English.

Must be disciplined, trustworthy and able to handle highly confidential matters and work independently.

Sound knowledge in handling Google Sheets/Google Docs or Microsoft Office.

Familiar with SQL Accounting Software (others can be considerable).

A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.

Job Type: Internship

Fixed monthly allowance.
