Job summary

SKL Interior Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur, is seeking a talented ID Quantity Surveyor to join our Interior Fit Out team. This full-time role is based in our KL office.

You will manage project costs, budgets and commercial aspects of interior construction projects to ensure on-time delivery, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will work with project managers, architects, contractors and clients to provide cost management and procurement guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional membership with AIQS, BQS or equivalent recognised qualification.
• 3-5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or interior fit-out industry.
• Strong cost estimation, budgeting and financial analysis.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes and commercial management practices.
• Experience with relevant QS software and tools, including familiarity with industry-standard estimating packages and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (advantageous).
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness and business acumen.
• Previous experience on interior design or fit-out projects is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and managing project budgets, cost estimates and financial forecasts for interior construction and fit-out projects
• Conducting detailed cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project expenditure without compromising quality
• Preparing tender documents, bills of quantities and specifications for contractor procurement
• Evaluating and analysing contractor quotations and tender submissions
• Managing supplier and contractor negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and favourable commercial terms
• Monitoring project expenditure and preparing regular cost reports and forecasts
• Conducting site visits and inspections to verify work progress and quality standards
• Preparing variation order assessments and managing scope changes with financial impact analysis
• Maintaining cost control records and project documentation in accordance with company standards
• Liaising with clients, project teams and stakeholders to provide timely cost and commercial advice
• Supporting contract administration and commercial management activities on assigned projects
