Job summary

Mayland Group of Company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to develop concepts, space planning, layouts and technical drawings aligned with project objectives and branding.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelor's in Interior Design or related field with at least five years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and Illustrator, and the ability to coordinate with consultants, contractors and suppliers across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in interior design.
• Experience managing interior fit-out projects from design development to site implementation.
• Strong knowledge of space planning and material specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts, space planning, layouts and technical drawings that align with project objectives and branding.
• Prepare design presentations, material boards and specifications for management approval.
• Select and coordinate finishes, materials, FF&E and lighting to achieve design, quality and budget requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and supervise interior fit-out works to ensure compliance with approved designs, quality standards and project timelines.
• Conduct site inspections, resolve design and construction issues and provide on-site technical support when required.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions and project progress to ensure design intent is maintained.
• Maintain project documentation and perform other duties assigned by Management from time to time.

Job Requirements:

• Experience managing interior fit-out projects from design development through site implementation.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge of SketchUp, 3D visualisation software or related design tools is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of space planning, material specifications, construction detailing and interior fit-out processes.
• Good project coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
