Job summary

Verinon Technology Solutions is seeking an IT Project Manager to oversee insurance applications projects from initiation to closure, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. The role requires strong governance, stakeholder engagement, and risk management across waterfall, agile, and Kanban environments.

You will coordinate internal teams and vendors, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with RMiT and other regulatory frameworks. Prior insurance domain experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Professional Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Project Management.
• At least 3 full lifecycle system implementations.
• Strong experience in technology implementation, system enhancement, and transformation projects.
• Experience managing project teams of at least 5 full-time members, excluding vendors.
• Insurance domain experience is highly preferred, particularly: Core Insurance / AS400, General Insurance / Life Insurance, Agent / Customer / Claims Portals.
• Digital, Data, Analytics, AI, Infrastructure, or Cloud projects.
• Familiarity with Bank Negara Malaysia's RMiT guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and Kanban methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and project governance skills.
• Experience with RFP/RFQ management is an added advantage.
• Experience preparing business cases, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessments is an added advantage.
• PMP and/or Certified Scrum Master certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT projects from initiation through planning, execution, implementation, and closure.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, success criteria, and project plans.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, budgets, WBS, dependencies, and critical paths.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests.
• Lead project governance, status meetings, progress reviews, SDLC tollgates, and escalation discussions.
• Coordinate internal teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and senior management.
• Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed scope, timeline, and budget.
• Understand technical issues and work with relevant teams to drive timely resolution.
• Ensure projects comply with established governance, company processes, and BNM/RMiT requirements.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, communication, and project sponsor engagement.
• Support project closure, handover, documentation, and transition to the support team.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned.
