Job summary

MEP Engineering Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Inspector of Works (Mechanical & Electrical) to join our on-site team. You will supervise mechanical and electrical installations, ensuring compliance with design, regulations and safety standards across projects.

Ideal candidates have 7–10 years of relevant experience, are able to read MEP drawings and contract documents, and are comfortable traveling to sites.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret MEP drawings, technical specifications and contract documents.
• Familiar with BIM or digital inspection tools is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate with project teams.

Responsibilities

• To assist in the administration and coordination of the M&E contracts.
• To supervise and check that the Works are installed in accordance with the approved shop drawings.
• To supervise and check that the equipment installed and material used is in accordance with the approved brands, models and type.
• To verify the quantity of work completed by the contractor in the monthly progress claim by the contractor.
• To prepare non-compliance report for any M&E works that is not in accordance with the contract.
• Witness the testing and commissioning of the Contract Works and maintain proper records.
• Endorse all relevant Form G’s for issuance of the Certificate of Completion and Compliance.
• Check, endorse and verify the as-built drawings and sign or endorse all such records.

Inspector of Works (Mechanical & Electrical)

MEP Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Inspector of Works (Mechanical & Electrical) to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position based on-site, where you will play a crucial supervisory and inspection role within our construction division. As an Inspector of Works, you will be responsible for overseeing mechanical and electrical works on construction projects, ensuring that all installations, modifications and systems comply with design specifications, building regulations and safety standards. This role is essential to maintaining the quality and integrity of our projects whilst ensuring timely completion and adherence to contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• To assist in the administration and coordination of the M&E contracts.


• To supervise and check that the Works are installed in accordance with the approved shop drawings.


• To supervise and check that the equipment installed and material used is in accordance with the approved brands, models and type.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 7-10 years' experience as an Inspector of Works, Site Supervisor or equivalent role within mechanical and electrical construction or building services


• Proven ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, technical specifications and contract documents


• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to various project sites as required


• Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) or digital inspection tools is advantageous
