Job summary

Ban Seng Plastic Industries & Assembly Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam, Selangor, seeks a full-time IT System Administrator to manage on-site infrastructure and ensure system reliability.

You will maintain server hardware, configure Proxmox VE clusters, administer JDE ERP environments, implement on-premise backups, and provide user support across manufacturing operations. On-site presence in Shah Alam is required and collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential.

Qualifications

• Strong System Administration skills including server management and OS maintenance.
• Solid Network Administration covering LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and basic security.
• Experience providing technical support for end users hardware/software.
• Foundational IT principles and security knowledge.
• Relevant certifications or education (e.g., IT/CS).
• On-site Shah Alam work requirement and cross-functional teamwork in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• On-Premise Infrastructure: Maintain physical server hardware, network racks, switches, and storage in the local server room.
• Proxmox Virtualization: Configure, update, and monitor Proxmox VE cluster and local VMs/LXCs.
• JDE ERP Support: Administer JD Edwards environment, user provisioning, environment management, basic troubleshooting.
• Local Data Backup & Recovery: Manage on-premise backups, snapshots, and DR plans with Proxmox Backup Server.
• User Support: Act as escalation point for mid-level tech issues affecting network/infrastructure.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Information Technology System Administrator role based in Shah Alam.

• Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Premise Infrastructure: Maintain physical server hardware, network racks, switches, and storage arrays (NAS/SAN) directly within our local server room.
• Proxmox Virtualization: Configure, update, and monitor our Proxmox VE cluster. Manage local KVM virtual machines, Linux Containers (LXC), and high-availability nodes.
• JDE ERP Support: Deliver technical administration for our JD Edwards environment, including user profile provisioning, environment management, and basic troubleshooting of JDE batch/interactive applications.
• Local Data Backup & Recovery: Administer strict on-premise backup routines, snapshots, and disaster recovery replication plans using Proxmox Backup Server.
• User Support: Serve as an escalation point for mid-level technical support tickets regarding network access, infrastructure anomalies, and system errors.

Qualifications

Strong System Administration skills, including server management, user account administration, and operating system maintenance.

• Solid Network Administration capabilities covering LAN/WAN management, routing, switching, and basic network security.
• Experience providing Technical Support to end users, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
• Proficient Troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing and resolving system, network, and application issues.
• Foundational knowledge in Information Technology principles, best practices, and IT security.
• Relevant certification or education (e.g., diploma/degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, or similar are an advantage).
• Ability to work on-site in Shah Alam, prioritise tasks, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems, backup solutions, and industrial or manufacturing IT environments is beneficial.
