Job summary

Innowave Tech Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a hands-on Automation Engineer in Malaysia to diagnose and resolve equipment interface issues at customer facilities. You will connect older machines to modern displays and KVM systems, trace faults end-to-end, and document reliable fixes.

The role involves hardware design, on-site work, and collaboration with vendors and software teams to improve automation workflows. English proficiency is essential; Chinese is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Automation, or related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of hands on experience in automation, equipment integration, field service, or industrial electronics.
• Excellent command of English; Chinese a strong plus.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally to support regional projects.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer machines and design the hardware architecture for each installation, including BOMs.
• Troubleshoot legacy video and human interface connections (VGA, PS/2) and diagnose signal issues.
• Check connector pinouts, cable continuity, grounding, power, video timing, and signal compatibility with test equipment.
• Integrate machine signals with industrial IoT gateways, sensors, or edge devices; support data collection and networking.
• Contribute to automation workflow development from manual processes to automated solutions.
• Collaborate with customer engineers, equipment vendors, and internal teams to reproduce issues and test fixes.
• Design hardware architecture diagrams and prepare interface records, test results, BOMs, and service reports.
