Job summary

WD is building the infrastructure behind the AI-driven data economy. We are seeking an Equipment Engineer to oversee preventive maintenance, installation, and continuous improvement at our Penang site.

You will work across automation, electrical, and mechanical disciplines, employing PLC/CTC/C++/Python for troubleshooting and ensuring OSHA safety compliance. This role focuses on real systems at real scale with tangible impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering related to Automation, Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics.
• Proficiency in at least one industrial programming language (PLC, CTC, C++, Python).
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and workplace health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee equipment preventive maintenance as per schedule.
• Manage equipment form factor conversion, set-up and buyoff.
• Lead continuous improvement projects.
• Install or set up new equipment propagation.
• Support major equipment issue troubleshooting and spare parts inventory purchasing.
• Trainer for new SOPs in human behavior or machine operation.
• Adhere to OSHA standards for safety and health.
• Use programming languages (PLC/CTC/C++/Python) for troubleshooting.
