KETECH ASIA SDN. BHD. seeks a manufacturing process engineer to optimize production of ammunition components. You will focus on throughput, line balancing, and preventive maintenance to reduce scrap and improve safety and quality across high-speed lines.
The role requires a degree in industrial/mechanical engineering and 3–5 years in high-volume manufacturing, with proficiency in CAD tools and lean methods (Six Sigma, RCA, SPC). You will report to the Operations team and work on-site.
Responsible to optimize the manufacturing process, machinery layout and resource allocation to ensure high-volume, high precision production of ammunition component and complete cartridge. This role will be focusing on maximizing throughput, reducing scrap, maintaining strict defense quality standard and ensuring maximum operational safety.
To perform process optimization by streamline high-speed production for component and assembly production line.
To conduct line balancing and improve throughput by carrying out time-motion studies, eliminate bottlenecks, and optimize cycle time for component line and assembly line.
Design and maintain a facility layout and material flow that ensure the safe optimal and efficient transit of component and explosive material.
Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor critical dimension for ammunition component and cartridge to minimize scrap and maintain higher quality pass rate.
To perform Continuous Improvement by leading the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigation on machinery downtime, component defect, line bottleneck and then implementing permanent corrective action.
To design, introduce and implement Preventive Maintenance (PM) for all machinery to ensure highest machine up time.
To maintain maintenance scheduling and documentation by establishing daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedule.
Track and analyze the tooling and die reliability by monitoring wear and tear cycle of high precision tooling and scheduling pre-emptive replacement.
To monitor and analyze OEE and Downtime tracking for identifying engineering root cause and engineering solution.
To establish standard operation procedure (SOP) for production process at component and assembly line.
To ensure compliance and response to internal & external audit.
To ensure safety compliance with OSHA and Emergency response.
The employee shall follow the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS), perform all duties with integrity, comply with all procedures, and report any issues or suspicious activities.
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, production engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline
3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in high-volume, high-speed stamping, deep drawing, precision machining or automated assembly environment
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/Solidwork)
Familiar with core tools of lean manufacturing, six sigma methodologies, root cause analysis (RCA) and statistical process control (SPC)
High level of attention to detail and leadership personality
We implement an Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) in line with ISO 37001. We uphold a strict zero-tolerance policy against bribery and corruption. Employment decisions are based solely on merit and integrity.
