Responsible for ensuring quality, safety, and compliance of small caliber ammunition production processes. This role focuses on implementing robust in-process dimensional and ballistic testing, driving root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), managing equipment calibration, and collaborating with production to prevent large-scale scrap or defects as assembly speeds increase.
Key responsibilities
- Implement, validate, and oversee in-process dimensional checks and critical ballistic testing protocols (pressure, velocity, chambering, function, and accuracy testing) for 9x19mm and 5.56x45mm ammunition lines.
- Monitor high-speed assembly and loading lines to prevent large volumes of scrap, non-conforming products, or batch defects.
- Oversee quality verification of incoming raw materials (e.g., lead, brass/copper strip, corn cob, propellants, primers) according to the Quality Inspection Plan.
- Lead technical investigations for non-conforming products, internal rejections, and customer complaints using structured tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Diagram).
- Prepare, execute, and track Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) records to resolution.
- Provide technical feedback and data-driven recommendations to the production and engineering teams to improve process capabilities and yield.
- Establish, verify, and perform internal calibration schedules for all precision inspection instruments, gauges, calipers, pressure sensors, balances, and ballistic testing equipment.
- Ensure operational test facilities, ranges, and lab equipment are properly maintained, safe, and fully functional.
- Maintain total traceability of tested samples, batch records, and scrapped components throughout the production line.
- Ensure all inspection reports, test data, and quality documentation strictly comply with ISO/military standards and internal quality management systems.
- Prepare documentation and actively participate in internal and external quality/regulatory audits, serving as a key liaison with auditing groups.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to QC Inspectors, QC Technicians, and production operators regarding quality standards and inspection methods.
- Coordinate and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ammunition quality, process efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor quality performance and assist in reviewing annual quality objectives and key performance indicators based on Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)/Specification of Customer (SOC) and quality trends.
- Other duties as assigned. Schedules will be periodically reviewed and may be adjusted based on the requirements of the factory.
- The employee shall follow the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS), perform all duties with integrity, comply with all procedures, and report any issues or suspicious activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, physics, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a QC engineer in precision manufacturing, metal stamping, CNC machining, high-speed automated assembly, or defense manufacturing lines
- Strong foundation in dimensional inspection, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T), and statistical process control (SPC)
- Practical experience or fast-learning capacity in pressure sensing, load cell measurement, and calibration of precise gauges/instrumentation
- Proficient in root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) and CAPA management
- Good understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001 / military standards) and internal/external audit readiness
- High level of accuracy and meticulousness in handling micro-dimensional tolerances, calibration data, and safety-critical quality parameters
- Ability to evaluate complex technical data, identify subtle process anomalies early, and apply logical reasoning during root cause investigations under high-speed assembly environments
Compliance & Integrity
We implement an Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) in line with ISO 37001. We uphold a strict zero-tolerance policy against bribery and corruption. Employment decisions are based solely on merit and integrity.
