Job summary

Flex is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our Johor-based team at Flex PTP, Johor, to support production engineering and process improvement initiatives. The role emphasizes lean practices, work measurement, and coordination with NPI and sales for efficient processes.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering background, familiarity with manufacturing workflows, and the ability to analyze data to boost throughput while reducing waste. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Fresh graduates in Mechanical Engineering are welcome to apply.
• Demonstrates understanding on advanced functional and technical skills and basic process skills.
• Typically requires skill and troubleshooting, and diagnostics, and overview of the entire test process and the ability to train others.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

• Provides process time estimation to the quote team.
• Simulates process, materials and manufacturing workflow and gives input to process engineers by using REFA, MOST, WITNESS and/or adequate tools.
• During NPI coordinates process planning and set up with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirement.
• Reviews result during prototyping and trial runs and gives feedback to NPI and sales team.
• Work measurement programs and examine work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
• Examines staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs and schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities.
• Confer with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
